KAKAO is a heirloom strain i.e. the highest quality) drinking chocolate made from whole cacao beans.
This cacao is is the Chuncho Cacao sourced with a huge amount of integrity from Peru.
A large part of KAKAO's non-profit mission is to help protect the native strains of cacao and support the communities which cultivate them.
 
 
KAKAO is made from native cacao beans. Cacao Chuncho is a native strain of cacao sourced from Peru.
They use the whole bean when making KAKAO, including the butter. Because KAKAO includes the cacao butter, there product has a higher degree of nutritional value as well as a higher concentration of the plant compounds that elicit cacao's ceremonial effects.
KAKAO is minimally processed, meaning the beans still contain as much of their natural compounds as humanly possible. They use the least amount of processing possible to create the finished product in order to minimize the negative effects of over-processing.
From tree to cup, KAKAO is cultivated with intention and integrity. This means that the lands, the farmers, and every stage of the process is handled responsibly with respect for all parties involved. They pay above fair trade wages to the farmers who are actively engaged in sustainability and regeneration practices and, as a 501c3 nonprofit, they have a responsibility to give back to the communities from which the cacao is sourced.
